women's cooperative
At Cat Loves Toys, we celebrate natural skincare inspired by Moroccan traditions. Our products are crafted by a women's cooperative, ensuring beauty and sustainability go hand in hand.
Many Moroccan women artisans come from rural villages where craft traditions—like weaving, embroidery, and natural dyeing—are passed down from mother to daughter. For example, Fadma Wadal, from the remote village of Zawiya Tidgheste near the desert’s edge, learned to card, spin, and weave while tending sheep as a young girl. Her textiles now carry the memory of those quiet desert mornings
Then there’s Aicha Duha, who began as a weaver but pivoted into the male-dominated world of rug trading. Frustrated by low earnings, she became a buyer and seller herself, sourcing rugs from rural women and selling them in Rabat and Khemisset. “I had to change with the times,” she said. “Now, thank God, I get by on my earnings”
